Art Lab: After School Art Exploration

$148.00

Grow your child’s creativity through hands-on art explorations and relaxation in the garden. 4th and 5th graders are invited into the Growing Arts garden and studio to engage in a large array of activities including found object art, mixed media collage, bookmaking, watercolor and acrylic painting, making miniatures, crafting with natural elements, and opportunities to follow their creative interests.

Limited to 8 students

About Growing Arts Center

Growing Arts Center is located 2 ½ blocks from Lewis Elementary in the garden of local artist, educator and gardener, Iris Nason. The studio was previously a garage and after a successful gofundme campaign it is now an insulated, heated, comfortable and relaxing space.

The restroom is located inside the family's home and children will be welcome to use it as needed.

The garden highlights are many! Amongst the plants and flowers are spaces to unwind including a hammock swing and a hanging cabana, a large disk swing, a hand-built stream to play alongside and chickens to cuddle.

Children will be met at Lewis and will walk together to the studio.   Please pack an extra snack to have at this time.

The only things the children are expected to bring are their curiosity and positive attitude. We will be welcoming children to be explorationally messy, please have them dress accordingly.
