Friend's of Arrietty Homes for Traveling Borrowers

$45.00

Dates to choose from: Saturday May 16, Sunday May 17, Saturday May 23, Sunday May 24 or Monday May 25 (Memorial Day), 10am-12pm or 1pm - 3pm

Friends of Arrietty has set up houses in my garden for traveling Borrowers. You are cordially invited to make these barebones houses into cozy and relaxing homes for those passing through.

Search the garden for a house and bring it into the studio to reconfigure the layout, create art for the walls, and treasure hunt as a borrower would for unique items.

Remember the motto of Friend’s of Arrietty:

“Keep the flowers fresh and the table set for a tiny friend in need of a rest”

Things to consider when making a house a home: all travelers will need cozy bedding and a place to lounge, but the styling is up to you: add wallpaper, a shade for the hanging lamp, stools for guests, a table cloth and rug. Travelers appreciate eclectic styling be it from cozy cottage core with fresh herb bundles and a stove for stew and pie to retro urban vibes packed with vintage flare. Themed rooms in a family run bed and breakfast will speak to character-rich Travelers while a stand alone rustic house in the woods answers the call of through hikers.

The fine print:

Friends of Arrietty workshops are for children, teens and adults. There is no age limit to daydreaming and fantasy making. Sign up as a family or a group of friends or as a solo whimsy maker ready to meet more!

Plan to spend 2 hours in the studio with forays into the garden for inspiration or gathering. Herbal tea and freshly baked delights will nourish you as you carefully tend to this playful task.

All materials provided but you are most welcome to bring tiny treasures to include in your home. Once finished the homes can be set inside your own house to admire and keep fresh for road weary folk. Add-ons such as different house structures can be purchased during the workshop
